Target:
  • Business that are laying off engineering professionals and want to facilitate them finding a new position.
Purpose:
  • To mitigate the workforce impact of layoffs due to professinal workforce reduction. Workers that remain tend to have better motivation.
Goals:
  1. Give tools to help them succesfully find new job opportunities in other organizations.
  2. Give these people the necessary feedback and support in order to achieve a new job.
Rationale:
  • Organizations must adapt to the changing international and local changes changing their strategic goals and reestructuring themselves to meet performance goals.
  • Sometimes it is necessary to lay off professionals, and this might lead to a demotivated workforce. In order to mitigate this effect and enhance workforce motivation, it is recommended to effectively help these professionals a new job with the help of an external outplacement service.
Metodology:

Experience and Success Stories:
  • During the 2001 crisis in Argentina that produced massive lay offs, working in the ITBA Alumni Association we helped more than 100 engineers find new jobs.
